‘The World in Red & White’ – looking forward…

Looking at the film as it nears completion I think its good to say I have a film that should have a good future both for me and for the film itself. It’s something which has been worked on for a while now but really, when released to the world, will be interesting to see how it takes it on.

We have been discussing it making an entrance into film festivals – something I’m quite nervous on doing – almost like a parent leaving a child at school for the first time. But, like putting your child into pre-school first, it might be worth setting up that screening I have been so longingly talking about doing.

Sports Festivals such as the LA All sports Festival is a good place to start (one which I have been monitoring as they also have branched out to India too, which is a great emerging audience there) and the football dedicated ‘Kicking and Screening” festival also shows pedigree for my film too.

...Selection 2014?

…Selection 2014?

As with last year’s ‘Gelato’ film, this film has multiple avenues such as documentary, Asian or European festivals – all of which there are festivals actively about.

And also not forgetting the student short film festival. Mostly however, from experience  are towards the first couple of months in the calendar year. These types of festivals like Cambridge and Exposure, if chosen will slowly but surely build enhancement of the films reputation.

Of course, however, these festivals come at a price, with various lengths, requirements and with the Indygogo funds, there is cash available for these things considered.

The point is, as I have put across in the first paragraph of this post is that there is a lot to this film for the foreseeable future. As a graduate company have done recently, taking a film is a life journey and something which this film will be – a break from the ‘bread and butter’ of the media world (unless your lucky enough to be in that world anyway).

There is so much that could have been done in so much of a small time but I am working on it and it would be unwise not to.
